I don't think there has ever actually been a time in my life when I didn't want to live in Charleston. Ever since I can remember I have always loved everything about it. The historical downtown area, the food...lots of food!, the beach, the intracoastal, the laid back atmosphere... there is always SOMETHING to do. I even have fun just driving around by myself sometimes! The fact that all of my friends live there, as well as my boyfriend, and I spend every weekend traveling back and forth doesn't help either. I've been in Columbia my entire life, all 26 years of it! Including college! It's about time I get out and explore somewhere new, and be more independent on my own. Well, I am finally moving to Charleston!! My wait is finally over. I am SO excited I can't stand it! I wish I could move in right now! (Although I would REALLY miss my puppy Sophie) It will definitely be a learning experience, and I'm sure I'll be homesick at first but I am so excited about all of the new opportunities ahead. I already have so many things in my mind I am looking forward to! I hope to use this little blog to keep in touch with my family & friends or whoever, that I don't see that often and update them on my life, and what I'm up to! Geez, I act like I'm moving to another country, not just 100 miles down I-26. It's just really this big of a deal! :)

I am going to be a Graphic Designer at the Charleston City Paper! I am thrilled because it is going to be such a great experience since one day I hope to work for a magazine, primarily Charleston Magazine or Garden & Gun Magazine. I have never worked for any type of newspaper or magazine before so all of this is completely new for me. All of the newspaper terminology, the process, even trying to brush up on InDesign. {I've been stuck in Quark with both of my two previous jobs... AHHH!} My new boss said he would "de-Quark" me! haha! I am also very excited about the great connections with people I am going to make along the way! It also doesn't hurt my first week of work we have our "Best of Charleston" party!! FREE food & drinks?? I'm there!!
