WE BEAT BAMA!

I don't have very much to write about this weekend because I'm pretty sure my title speaks for itself! WE BEAT BAMA! GO COCKS! We traveled up to Columbia Friday night and I prepared my tailgate items. I chose to make some Tastefully Simple of course! I made the Absolutely Almond Poundcake. It was delicious! I am biased when it comes to almond pound cake because I'm pretty sure my mom makes the best! This tasted exactly like hers, only it is a little bit lighter in texture. It is light, almondy, buttery and delicious! The great part was it only took 3/4 cup of melted butter and 1 cup of water.

I also made the garlic dip but did not take a photo of it. It was great served with pita chips! All you do is mix half a cup of mayo, half a cup of sour cream and two tablespoons of the garlic garlic. EASY PEASY!

I made a loaf of the Bountiful Beer Bread. Yet again, so easy! All you need is a can of beer, or any carbonated beverage. And some melted butter if you choose. (of course I went with this option). This bread is addictive. It has a slight sourdough flavor, is moist and would make great french toast! You can also alter this any way you choose. You can add in cinnamon, nuts, fruit, cheese, garlic, whatever you like and make another kind of bread. Tastefully Simple has some great suggestions in their cook books!

We headed out to tailgate early because we were afraid of horrible traffic. We must have left just in time! We had NO traffic, and got a spot right in front of the lot we tailgate in. Of course, my mom made me another cute outfit! It is just like the one she made me for the Auburn vs. Clemson game, but in garnet and black :)
And here are a few more from the day!

Williams-Brice Stadium... greatest stadium in the world!
LOVE IT!!
Sunday we woke up and headed to Atlanta, we got last minute tickets to the Braves Playoff game! Unfortunately we lost, but it was great to experience Bobby Cox's second to last game. (His last being last night). I got a slight picture of him when he ran over to our secton to check on Jason Heyward when he slammed into the wall!

The Chop! My arm was killing me by the end of the game!

The Ted!
Suddenly, this guy appeared out of nowhere... WHAT?!

He was quickly escorted out!
what a weirdo?!
We had a great weekend, but it's great to be back in Charleston, at home with all of my stuff, not living out of a suitcase... :) Looking forward to a nice low key weekend with our friends Anna & Cole who are coming to town this weekend!

  4. I am still in awe that we actually beat Bama! I'm a sophomore at USC and I think it was one of the most thrilling games I've been to. I was so happy to see student section stay until the very end for a change! I also absolutely adore your outfits made by your mom! My mom has sewn for me for as long as I can remember but not so much now that I'm older, but I am definitely going to have to check out some of the patterns you have! Love your blog!
    GO COCKS!
