Sometimes I wish I was a photographer...

Today when I got home I realized how nice out it was, and hated being inside! So I remembered... I wanted to take some pictures of Shem Creek behind my apartment, but it has been rainy the past couple of days. So now was the perfect time! It was about 6:30 so the lighting was great. (I love daylight savings time!) I got a couple of pictures. I only wish the sun set right over the creek, wouldn't that be picturesque?! Instead it was behind the trees. Here are some that I captured.

I grabbed my 55-200mm lens to zoom into this shot of Shem Creek. You can see the lighthouse at the landing, the marina, shrimp boats, and the bridge to the very far right!

Sometimes when I'm sitting inside the office during the day I realize I should have taken photography classes. I love being outside, especially on warm and sunny spring days! Meanwhile I'll just read about it online, and take pictures in my spare time for fun! Maybe one day I'll be good enough to make some side money from it.

On my way back inside I found this pretty rose (I think this is a type of rose?) growing. Of course... I took a picture of it. :)  Tomorrow I don't have to work and I have a hair appt. downtown. I'm going to try and take my camera so after I can go on a little walk! Not for long though, I have to make it back to the pool to start working on my tan!!

All Settled In!

I finally got everything moved into my new place. This calls for a big celebration because I don't have to worry about moving again, well... at LEAST for a year! It was really stressing me out. I still have a few odds & ends to get done, some random boxes in my room and some empty walls in my room I'm trying to decide how to fill. Today I finally got my cable & internet hooked up. I felt like I was living in the dark ages without it... miserable! My phone battery kept dying because I had to use it for the internet, which is cool when you need to check e-mail or one little thing. But when ALL DAY you're using your phone for the internet... it can get slow and obnoxious.  Anyways... I thought I'd include some little pictures of my place so far! I love it, so happy to have all of my stuff back out of storage!

I love my job!

Well, I've just completed my first two full days of work! Yesterday, I really just helped the event planner get some signage together for the "Best of Charleston" party on Wednesday night. (Which I'm excited about! Free food & drinks!! woo hoo!) Everyone was so friendly and helpful as I was learning about everything. I just happened to start my job during THE MOST stressful time of the year. "Best of". I did have fun reading the little list of winners today, before the issue is out on Wednesday. Today (Tuesday) I helped our web designer update certain sections for the best of on the web. Check them out here on Wednesday, March 10!

So far, I absolutely LOVE my job. I really cannot complain, I got off at 4:15 today and will get off early most Tuesdays, I have off tomorrow (and every Wednesday), get to go to the Best of Charleston party tomorrow night, and come in late to work on Thursday! Not too shabby! It also didn't hurt that it was a nice 75 degrees today, I took the long drive home...down Coleman to Sullivan's Island and over to Isle of Palms. I just love driving over the water! That's really all I need... just move my office to the water, and I'd be set.

I miss Sophie! :(

So now, I'm back to living by myself. It's fun, yet there are certain things I realize that I miss. Well, first of all I'm living out of a suitcase until I move into my apartment... ahhhh everything I pull out to wear has to be ironed. I miss having a nice dinner prepared for me every night! Last night, I almost ate peanut butter & jelly, but decided to go get a little salad from the grocery store and ate an orange with it. Haven't figured out tonight yet. It's also weird not having anyone to talk to or having Sophie shove tennis balls on me! BUT... I cannot complain with where I am staying. I'm in love with this condo! I sure am going to miss this big HD flatscreen tv. This is on my list of "wants that I cannot afford".  I also am obsessed with the granite counters, and the big leaf fans in EVERY room! I miss mine at home! :( I love beach decor. Oh! But look at this really cute cocktail the lady that owns the condo left for me. It's red wine & dutch chocolate... yes! Two of my favorites!

As amazing as this place is, I really can't wait to get all of my stuff out of storage and into my own place. Ready to get Friday over with... moving isn't so much fun!

Another nice note... Brice just got a new job!! YAY! He will be working downtown on East Bay, right down the street from me! We can pack little picnic lunches and eat at Waterfront park or in the battery. I might not want to go back to work though! I am so happy for him for getting this!

Hate moving... LOVE decorating!

The closer I get to move in day the more stressed I get. Every single time I move! I don't know what it is... just the fact that I have SO much stuff to move, how heavy it is, hoping I have room for everything. It's just a pain. I'm sure I will pass out quick that night! However, with moving comes a new place to decorate! So that is a very positive and exciting thing to think about! Of course I'm still using everything I have before just updating a few ends and outs. I am getting a new couch that I love! It has a very modern look to it, but not too modern. A lot of "modern" decor is very uncomfortable looking. But this couch has the soft suede feel to it and you sink right in when you sit down! Also, it makes out into a queen bed so I can accommodate guests on the weekend. (Primarily my parents I am sure!)

Here is what my couch looks like:

I also decided I would like some new pillows, and possibly some new place mats as well. I LOVE... seriously, LOVE Amy Butler fabric. You can make clothes, purses, pillows, really anything from it. She also carries lines of stationary, wrapping paper, bedding, rugs... anything you can think of! I wish I could just decorate my whole place in it. Question is.. WHICH FABRIC?! Maybe I'll just combine a few!

Is it really weird that I've already started looking at the floor plans and deciding where I'm going to put everything?! I REALLY can't wait to get my espresso/cappuccino maker and Teavana tea maker out of storage! I'm so excited I can go get some tea from Teavana downtown (we don't have a Teavana in Columbia) and I have already started eyeing the coffee selection at Whole Foods.  The Fresh Market was my favorite place to buy coffee in Columbia... Whole Foods has a lot to live up to! :)
