Vote for Tibi!!

For any of you that have Facebook, I have a HUGE favor to ask of you. My friend Mary has entered her little dog, Tibi, into a contest for Barkbusters of Charleston. She needs your help, she needs all of you to please "like" Barkbusters of Charleston on Facebook and then scroll down to the photo above of Tibi (Tiki) and "like" it! It would be greatly appreciated... she is losing right now to another dog, but is not too far behind! This win would really help out Mary since Tibi definitely needs some doggie school training!! (notice she is standing on the coffee table with Mary's panties... haha!) Thanks everyone!

Sewing Project #2!

Please excuse the photo... I had to take it with  my iPhone because I didn't feel like going down to my car to get my nice camera! Will post more photos as soon as I muster up the energy... and clear off room on my hard drive {it's full!!}. This is my second little sewing project, a clutch purse! I absolutely LOVE it and cannot wait to make more! The more I make the faster I'll get... which means I can make them for gifts :)

Next project will probably be some pillows for my couch. I am so ready to brighten things up a little and get ready for spring!! I'll be sure to include better photos of this purse on my next blog post. I'm just so thrilled at how this turned out that I had to just go ahead and post!

Lilly Pulitzer on Rue LaLa!

I am so excited!! I just got the Lilly Pulitzer "Petula" Coral Me Crazy dress on Rue LaLa! The store just opened at 11 am today and they've already sold out of a few items. They have GREAT prices. If you're interested I encourage you to hurry hurry!! If you aren't already a member, you can go HERE and sign up! Happy Shopping!!

My first sewing project!

This weekend I went home for my dad's birthday and to make my first project with my sewing machine I got for Christmas! Over Christmas break my mom and I went shopping and picked out two patterns and material. I chose an apron and a clutch purse. My first one to tackle was the apron. It seemed the most simple.

Simple?! It has SO many more steps than I imagined. It isn't just sew here... then sew here... then sew here. It's special way's of doing certain steps, and being very meticulous. Of course I had the best teacher, my mom!

The pattern I chose was a Butterick retro pattern. {Pictured here}
I chose the yellow apron, only I didn't sew the little design onto it. I also chose an Amy Butler fabric from her Daisy Chain line. It's called "pressed flowers".  I LOVE Amy Butler fabric, it makes me smile :)

Here are some photos... I'm not showing anyone the picture I texted Brice last night with my pj's and my apron on! Horrible!

 I was really happy about learning to hem. It's A LOT tougher than it looks... especially when you have to sew along a curve like I did! {Please excuse my ugly nail... I need a manicure!}

I've already started making my clutch purse... will blog when it's finished! I have a feeling I'm going to be making a lot of them. Love clutches!!  Then... it's sundress time!! :)

The Bachelor is BACK!

Monday nights have been SO depressing lately... there is nothing on but NFL football and that is the LAST thing that I am watching! This week, one of my favorite trashy tv shows came back. The Bachelor!

 I've heard many people that do not want to watch this season simply because they think Brad is such a jerk for not picking either girl the last time he was "The Bachelor". I have a different opinion on this matter. Why would he pick someone and give them a ring if he didn't have real feelings for them and he didn't know if he loved them or not? I actually admire him for what he did. I would not want to be given a diamond on national tv in front of millions of people and then go home and have him break up with me... which would lead to the awkward "after the rose" ceremony. Some people say, "he shouldn't have lead either of them on for so long". Well duh, he was under a contract. He couldn't just say "I quit".

Moving right along... of course this first episode had it's fair share of cheesy moments of Brad flitting around shirtless like a Baywatch episode. My personal favorite moment was when they had him dramatically coming up out of the water... I busted out laughing at this point!

I don't have that much to say considering this was only the first episode. But I do have some favorites. My favorite picks are Ashley and Emily.

Ashley reminds me of Kellie Pickler! Probably one reason I love her, Kellie Pickler is one of my favorite artists and I think we would be such good friends! Ashley just seems like such a down to earth person, and super sweet!

Emily is my other favorite. She lives in Charlotte and is by far the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She is a walking Barbie doll!! And the great thing is she is such a sweet person, she doesn't have a snooty attitude or think she is better than everyone. She also makes me so excited to go back to my summer blonde... :)
Let's talk WEIRDOS. Such as... vampire girl! Yes, a vampire. What a weirdo! Who would have vampire teeth? She looks normal right?

Look! You too can have fangs if you'd like! VAMPIRE FANGS, and here's a video demonstration!

I'd also like to point out the "manscaper". What a weird occupation. I'm pretty sure the last thing I'd find joy doing everyday is waxing nasty men's back/behind hair. sick! And I can't believe she waxed Brad's wrist. I would be so mad if I were him!

Cannot wait until next week, here's hoping for lots of drama!

It's been a while!

I've been such a slacker lately! Well, not really... I've been super busy therefore I haven't had any time to blog. I got two weeks vacation from work and am now finally settling back down into my normal routine - beginning tomorrow - ughh.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I received several very exciting gifts this year that I thought I would share!

My first gift this year was from Brice... he had this beach cruiser custom designed for me! And he did such a great job... it looks exactly like me! I love it even more because he put so much thought into it and every little tiny detail he chose. That makes it so much more special :)

We had to take it for a little spin on the beach, of course!

I also had to tote it to Columbia so I could take Sophie for a ride...
We went to Columbia the next morning to begin Christmas festivities...

 Santa gave me a Janome sewing machine... something I've been wanting for a while! I've already gotten two patterns, an apron and a clutch purse. I'll be making those this weekend and will definitely share them next week!

I really just cannot wait to make some new pillows for my couch and some cute summer dresses!

A Guide to Elegance by Genevieve Antoine Dariaux, was a fun little gift! It's a great reference that I can use year after year. A guide to timeless elegance! I believe everyone should own a copy of this!

Lilly Pulitzer's "Beachy" perfume. This smells exactly like the beach, I CANNOT WAIT to wear this over the summer!!

We had a wonderful "almost white" Christmas! It began snowing in Columbia on Christmas night and so I woke up to a winter wonderland the next morning! Sophie didn't really enjoy playing in the snow but I had to get a photo since I wasn't there last year with her in the snow.

She was not too happy with me and quickly ran back inside! Jaime and Harper came by to see us... he is the sweetest and cutest baby I believe I have ever seen! LOVE him and wish I could see both of them more often!

We came back home to Charleston for New Years Eve, which we spent with some friends downtown. We had a great time ringing in the new year and I already feel like 2011 is going to be even better than 2010! I ate my collards yesterday so I'm hoping for some money to come my way... maybe I should try the lottery?! Happy New Years to everyone!
