Good/Bad Monday!

"Monday's" typically have a bad connotation. Everything wrong always seems to happen on MONDAY! I came into work this morning with the girl scout cookies I had ordered sitting in a little bag on my desk... yay! This is a good and bad thing, Cookies = heaven/calories. Hopefully I can control myself and know my limits! One of my bosses knows I've been trying SO hard lately eating healthy and working out, and I avoid all sweets that come into the office! I found this little note when I came back from lunch today!

Ughhhhh thanks for reminding me!! I pointed out that I had been doing well and choosing my sweets in the form of protein bars. Last night at the grocery store I bought a new flavor of Luna Bar. Chocolate Cherry Almond. It was delicious!!

I had a very productive wonderful Monday (it felt like SUMMER outside!) until I got in the car to go home and found THIS.

A CRACK in my Ray Bans!! How on earth did this happen when they have been in their case since some point this weekend?! I knew something wrong had to happen. Guess this had to be it! Now I'm going to have to find a way to have them fixed before the weekend.

The night ended with The Bachelor {Emily is still in it woohoo!!} and painting my nails my new shade of Essie "Mint Candy Apple". Not so sure I'm into this trend but thought I'd branch out for once. I'll most likely be back my standard coral for the weekend!!

Happy Pink & Green Thursday!

I decided to jump on the Pink and Green Thursday bandwagon! It seems fun, plus I'm wearing pink and green today - how appropriate! Here are some pink and green photos that made me happy!

You can't have Pink & Green Thursday without some Lilly!

Can't wait for the weekend!!

I checked the weather on my phone a few minutes ago, and this is what I saw...woohoo!

After having a rather chilly day yesterday I'm so glad the temperatures are climbing back up! It looks like the groundhog was right afterall! I'm looking forward to a laid back weekend at home in Columbia. I have a hair appointment on Saturday and am getting my SUMMER BLONDE back! I have been dying for the past month... the lowlights that have grown out look pretty hideous.

I'm not such a big fan of the "grown out" look that was apparently popular this year.

I'm also looking forward to Brice and I going for a "run" on the dam! He runs everyday, but I've never been able to run very far... yes, I realize that with time I could do it but I really just prefer body pump and intervals on the treadmill or elliptical. I enjoy run/walk's :) Runners don't hate me.

The Lake Murray Dam
As always I look forward to seeing my parents, yummy meals, washing my laundry for FREE, and my precious little sister SOPHIE!

On another random note, has anyone seen this picture of Steve Spurrier captured at the Daytona 500? It made my night when Brice posted it on my Facebook wall last night. Just hanging out with a Coors! I'm pretty sure he and my dad would be best friends!

Steve is keepin it real!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Occasionally I decide to take part in "What I'm Loving Wednesday" and since Spring is right upon us I have several new loves right now!

Yellowfin Tuna Taco
I LOVE fish tacos! This weekend, Brice and I stopped in one of our favorite places to eat, Poe's Tavern, and grabbed some fish taco's for a mid bike ride break! Poe's Tavern is on Sullivan's Island, SC and it is the PERFECT spot to grab some lunch and a margarita! Quick history lesson... it's named after Edgar Allen Poe because he was once a Sullivan's Island resident! He was stationed at Fort Moultrie which is on the island, if you aren't familiar. Brice got the Buffalo Shrimp Taco and I got the Yellowfin Tuna Taco {with pineapple relish which was delish} and we swapped each other one. I'll have to say my favorite was the Buffalo Shrimp, but both are pretty hard to beat!
Poe's Tavern - Sullivan's Island, SC
If any of you are ever in the Charleston area, I suggest you make a pit stop at Poe's. WARNING: it gets VERY crowded, but is totally worth the wait! I've also heard it is Reese Witherspoon's favorite place to eat when she is in town. :)

Spoiled Rotten

I thought I'd share this photo that my mom texted to me Sunday night. Yes, this is Sophie... the DOG. And yes, she sleeps like this every night. Can you say SPOILED?!

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies

All day I have had a huge sweet tooth, and that rarely happens. I'm much more of a salty snacker! At lunch, I got a Chick-Fil-A cookies & cream milk shake... it was heaven! I thought that would do it... but no, while I was eating my very healthy dinner I thought I needed some peanut butter. But not just peanut butter, peanut butter in the form of a dessert. Wonderful, I just worked so hard at the gym plus I have been super healthy lately - I guess I'll consider this a little reward! I decided on this recipe from Cinnamon Spice & Everything Nice. I made a few alterations due to not having enough oats nor having any nuts or chocolate chips on hand. It turned out fabulous!

ughh why am I so messy?!
3/4 cup Butter, at room temperature
2/3 cup Peanut Butter {I used Smart Balance}
1 cup Sugar
1/2 cup packed Brown Sugar
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
2 Eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1 + 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups Rolled Oats {I only had 1 + 1/2 cups so I used some of my Bear Naked Banana Nut granola for the last half - I'm pretty sure the banana granola was an added bonus!}

2/3 cup nuts/ dried fruit/chocolate chips...etc. {optional}

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2. Beat together butter and peanut butter until well combined. Add sugars, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Beat until combined.

3. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Beat in flour. Stir in oats, cranberries and nuts.

4. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes or until light brown around edges.

5. Remove to wire racks to cool.

ooey gooey yumminess!!!
I'll have to say I did take a few little tastes of the dough... I can't resist cookie dough! I was particularly excited to use my new cookie dough scooper I got from Santa!
cookie scooper!

This little gadget ensures all of your cookies to be the same size... the perfect cookie size in my opinion. And look how cute they all look scooped out on the sheet?
perfection, I must say!
Peanut Butter + Oats + Cinnamon + Hint of Banana = PERFECTION
As much as I love these little bits of goodness, I don't need them sitting around so about 3/4 of them are heading to Brice's house on my lunch break tomorrow. You're welcome boys!

I am suggesting that all of you go make these now!!

Happy Margarita Day!

Happy Margarita Day! Margaritas just happen to be my favorite beverage of choice and I am thrilled I can celebrate them all day today! (And possibly partake in one after work).  It also gives me an excuse (not that I need one) to play Jimmy Buffett all day long and dream that I am in Margaritaville itself! And if you don't have a copy of Margaritaville on hand... here you go! You are welcome! And just a side note... do you prefer your margarita frozen or on the rocks? I prefer mine on the rocks! Only problem is they go down too fast that way!

Really Rachel?

The Zoe Report: 2-21-2011 = horrible.

Dear Rachel Zoe,
Turbans?? Really?? I usually think you have great fashion sense... and love your book "A to Zoe" However, this is one fashion trend that I will not be following! I'm sorry... but FAIL.

Playing photographer for a day!

A few weeks ago I got an e-mail from one of our friends Anna, who got engaged to one of Brice's good friends Chris on New Years Eve! She wanted to know if I'd be willing to shoot some photos for them for their Save the Dates. I've had no photography training but I enjoy it so I said "Yes! I can at least try!" I thought it would be a fun experience.

We decided to go out to Sullivan's Island, Station 26 to be exact, where Chris proposed and took a variety of pictures. I was really happy how they turned out! I thought I would share a few of my favorites with all of you!

Lilly 4G iPhone Covers!

I am so excited!! I have been wanting one of the Lilly iPhone covers, however they did not have the ones for 4G yet. Until now! They have arrived!! I am definitely getting this... perfect timing for spring!

Makeup Help!

I've used BareMinerals makeup for a few years now, and for some reason or another I don't think it looks as good as it used to! I feel like it either doesn't seem to cover enough, but if you put more it looks cakey/powdery. It is driving me insane! Not to mention that my face gets itchy if I get slightly warm {I've heard this from several people}.

What kind of makeup do you recommend? I'm open to all recommendations! I just want it to look smooth/cover/not look powdery but not look shiny either. Am I being picky?!

Lilly Obsessed.

The closer we get to spring... and the more warm days we have... the more I realize I daydream about Lilly! I'm even trying to come up with ideas in my head of how I can afford to buy more Lilly! {RueLaLa was a dream come true!} I find myself perusing the web site over and over again, multiple times a day. I thought I would share a {few} of my favorite items! Because if I could I would just post the entire catalog :)

My 2011 Summer Purse? Yes please!
I also realized they are coming out with a FURNITURE LINE... ok, I might have to redecorate! Ahhhh hurry up summer!!

Tomorrow it is supposed to be 80* and sunny here in Charleston and I couldn't be more excited about that! I've already painted my nails my summer OPI color {My Chihuahua Bites Me} and next weekend I am getting my summer blonde highlights! Now all I need is a tan! :(

Banana Crazy!

Bear Naked Granola is my new favorite snack! I've tried it several other times but this time I have an obsession with one of the flavors. Banana Nut! It is SO good! There are pieces of dried banana, almonds and pecans in the mix. Honestly, I have a slight banana obsession... let's recap this morning:

*I had banana nut cheerios for breakfast
*I listened to Jack Johnson's "Banana Pancakes" on the way to work
*I'm snacking on Banana Nut granola
*My afternoon snack is none other than... a banana.

Wow... was I a monkey in my previous life?!

My mom has a giveaway posted on her blog! Go HERE to check it out!

And so it begins... wedding/engagement party season!

From now until May I am completely booked every single weekend! AHH! Between Brice and I we have weddings, engagement parties, bachelorette parties, birthdays... etc. This past weekend Brice and a few of his friends threw an engagement party for our friends Cole and Anna. It was a blast, and the perfect amount of people! Here are a few photos:

with the beautiful bride!

Last night we celebrated Valentine's Day at Blossom. It was phenomenal! I loved the atmosphere as well. For appetizers we enjoyed Buttermilk Fried Calamari with red pepper rémoulade and Seared Housemade Chorizo Sausage on sweet corn griddle cakes with pepperonata, sweet and spicy mustard. WOW, the Chorizo Sausage was amazing... I could have ordered a couple of these for my meal and been completely satisfied!

For our entrees, Brice chose the Barbecue Swordfish with housemade mustard glaze, fettuccini, rapini pesto and I had the Grilled Café Strip Steak with potato confit, port blue cheese butter and asparagus. They were both to die for! I secretly wanted to order the Beef Stroganoff but knowing I could make that myself, I decided to go for something a little different!

We passed on dessert... which was hard, but I knew I was stuffed. Ok... let's get real, I had to get home to catch the end of The Bachelor! Peace out Michelle!!
