You are what you TEA

Recently I was asked to give a review of Lipton's new line of Natural Tea's for the Lipton Blog Tour. (Find their facebook page HERE! Become a fan!) Of course I said "YES!" since I'm a regular tea and green tea lover!

My first thought after opening the package like it was Christmas morning was "how cute is this packaging?!" Also, check out the other loot! Product information, 2 coupons for free Lipton Tea and a one year subscription to Pandora! Lipton is doing a partnership with Pandora to encourage consumers to express their individuality through their tea and music. New Pandora stations include Lipton Pop, Lipton Country, Lipton Rock and Lipton Hip-Hop. I think it's such a great idea and I can't wait to check out some of these stations!

what a cute little wooden carrier!
I received 6 different, 20 oz. tea flavors to try. I was very excited to see how these 'natural teas' compared to regular bottled teas. What does 'natural tea' mean? It means they have an all natural ingredient list, real sugar and natural flavors with no preservatives, no artificial color or artificial flavors. I almost forgot to mention that they are only $0.99 - $1.59 each, not bad!

The 6 different flavors consisted of the following:

(not in the order of the photo)
Iced Tea with Blueberry Pomegranate
Iced Tea with Lemon
Green Tea with Passionfruit Mango
Green Tea with Citrus
Diet Green Tea with Watermelon
Diet Green Tea with Citrus

I was extremely impressed with these flavors... yes, ALL of them! Including the Iced Tea with Lemon, which I'm not typically a huge fan of. I found this flavor to be very refreshing and it didn't have that "fake lemon" taste that a lot of teas with lemon have.

Of course my three favorites would have to be the Iced Tea with Blueberry Pomegranate, Green Tea with Passionfruit Mango and Diet Green Tea with Watermelon. The watermelon was delicious! Such a light watermelon flavor... it wasn't over the top fruity. The other two would be perfect for anyone who isn't a daily tea drinker, but would still like to try them. The flavors mask the tea so well that you forget you are drinking tea and almost feel as if you're drinking fruit juice. I took these out to the beach with me and it was the most perfect and refreshing beverage.

I encourage everyone to go out and try at least one of these flavors... the perfect summer beverage in my opinion! I promise you won't be disappointed!

I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Gen-Yknot on behalf of Lipton and received Lipton product samples and a subscription to Pandora One to facilitate my candid review. Gen-Yknot also sent me a promotional item to thank me for my time.

Happy Memorial Day!

My Memorial Day weekend was not that eventful. I ended up getting sick and so I didn't do all that much. It consisted of:

Friday: taking a 3 hour nap after work, cooking dinner for Brice, and renting The Switch (love anything with Jennifer Aniston!) It was a really good movie! The little boy is adorable.

Saturday: Beach with friends before going to a wedding with my friend Kira. Even though I felt a little bad, I do love weddings and had promised to be her #1 date! {note the dress my mom made me!}

Sunday: Brice and I went to church, and went to the new Juanita Greenberg's in Mt. Pleasant for lunch. Since I couldn't taste a thing I settled for a cheese quesadilla. Can't go wrong with a bunch of cheese! Then we began beach day #2 with friends before heading to to Hometeam and then finished the evening at Red's. Red's is our favorite Sunday afternoon spot! I was exhausted and we left pretty early... I came home and proceeded to sleep for about 10+ hours!

Memorial Day!: Today was my dad to get things accomplished! I did some cleaning around my apartment this morning and then Brice and I ran a few errands. I finally got my Costas! I'd sent in a pair to be replaced however mine had been discontinued :( So I got to pick out a new pair! I got the Isabela.
Brice also washed my car :) Such a good boyfriend!

That about sums up my Memorial Day weekend! I hope everyone else's was a little more eventful than mine, although it was nice having it a little more low key! It would have been nicer if I had actually been able to smell/taste/not feel smothered all weekend. yuck!

American Idol just got better!

Not only are my two favorites in the running for the next American Idol (Scotty McCreery & Lauren Alaina) but tonight my VERY two favorites will be on the show choosing songs for each of the finalists to sing! Carrie Underwood will be picking a song for Lauren and George Strait will be picking a song for Scotty! CANNOT WAIT to watch tonight and see what songs they choose! Don't forget to tune into Fox at 8 pm est!

Bridesmaids = Funniest movie EVER!

Last week I remembered that Bridesmaids came to theaters on Friday and I would be out of town. So I asked my friends if they would be interested in seeing it this Tuesday as it's $5 movies at Cinebarre! Thankfully the majority of them agreed and I couldn't stop thinking about it from that point on. Good thing it lived up to all the hype!!

This movie was absolutely hysterical from the beginning to the end. And what more could you expect from the producers of "Knocked Up", "The 40 Year Old Virgin" and "Superbad"?! I really haven't laughed this hard in a movie since I saw "I Love You, Man" a few years ago. We were all crying we laughed so hard! I'm ready to see it again!!

Kristen Wiig is my new hero... she kept me laughing the entire time and I WILL see every movie that she is in from this point on! She is hysterical! Her facial expressions alone kept me laughing. I've posted the trailer below just in case any of you haven't seen it. Go see this now!!

Busiest Weekend EVER!

This past weekend we headed back to Atlanta. We had FOUR events this weekend... we were prepared for it to be insane! After meeting Brice's friends out Friday night when we got there we woke up to attend his nephews 4th birthday party at 10 am! I was exhausted but made it through knowing I would be napping on the boat all afternoon. That evening we had not one but two parties taking place at the same time!

Brice and me with the bride & groom to be!
First we headed to Pete & Beth's engagement party. It was a nice little casual gathering of friends, food, drinks and corn hole! There were some GREAT recipes and I will definitely be finding out what those recipes are asap so that I can make them! (Not that I need them!)

Brice and his Auburn buddies
We stayed about an hour and a half and then headed to Brice's sister Shea's 40th birthday party! It was amazing... I want a party just like this for my 40th! It was like a wedding reception only less formal. I thought I'd show a full length photo of the outfit my mom made for me... it's a jumper and I'm obsessed with it! I need more!

Here is Brice and the birthday girl!!

It was so much fun I didn't want to leave! We had so much fun dancing I could have done that all night!

We drove back to Columbia somewhat early on Sunday so that I could make my friend Katherine's baby shower! I've known Katherine since I was born. There were actually four of us in our little "group" Me, Mary, Katherine and Jenny. We went to preschool together, took dance class together, and then when we got to middle and high school Mary and I went to the rival high school of Katherine and Jenny. Here's a photo of us when we were little!

Mary, Katherine, Jenny & Me!
And here is a photo from Sunday!

Mary, Me, Katherine & Jenny
I'm so glad we are still friends and can get together for special occasions like this! I know Katherine is going to make a wonderful mother!

This was the perfect ending to such a great weekend... now on to the work week!! Happy Monday!

Weekend Recap... busy busy!!

Yet another busy weekend in the life of Brooke! I somewhat began my weekend on Thursday which was Cinco de Mayo! We had a little get together at Amanda's house and had fun eating yummy mexican food and playing with fake moustaches!

Friday we began our 5 hour trek to Atlanta! We had two engagement parties this weekend (the continuation of wedding season). Brice and some friends gave a party on the lake at his house boat... it was a lot of fun, I really could have just stayed there all day long and watched the sun set!
Getting YACHT!
That evening we had an engagement party/couples shower for Anna and Cole. Y'all might remember their engagement! It was great to get together with everyone despite the lack of energy I had! The sun just takes it all out of me!

The future Mr. & Mrs. Norris!
Brice's high school group

We ended the weekend with Mother's Day! I hate that it was so rushed and I wish I could have spent more time at home with my mom, but when you live out of town and have so much going on sometimes that just isn't possible! We're back to the work week... and preparing for another trip and FULL weekend again! 4 events this go - round! Wooo!

46 Days...

46 Days for what you might ask? That would be the number of days until my trip to Rosemary Beach, Florida with Brice's family! Wooo! Can you believe this is my first actual week long vacation since I had summer breaks in college? And let's just note that I did not even spend a full week at the beach during this time. Sad, I know. This just makes it even more exciting! Please check out my countdown app on my phone...

I've lived two years with Brice living it up for a week at the beach, seeing pictures... meanwhile I was at my desk, working away. I am so thankful to have such amazing bosses now that pretty much make you take time off! With all of this excitement (we're under 2 months now!) every little beachy thing has grabbed my attention. In todays mail I received the new Vineyard Vines catalog. Oh dear...this is a bittersweet situation. I get extremely excited to peruse it, then have a huge let down when I realize I will most likely have to continue to just dream... my money belongs to bills not Vineyard Vines... :(
This would go with everything!

This color would look so great with a tan!
Is it strange that when I saw this last photo I immediately imagined myself all tan, sitting outside at a beachy restaurant, listening to live music (preferably Jimmy Buffett) while eating fried seafood? Because I did!!

I would also very much enjoy the following Lilly Pulitzer items! (This is again a VERY bittersweet situation!)

Oh to dream!

Royal Wedding + Charleston Wedding!

This weekend began on Thursday night for me, and it was non stop! But a good non stop... tiring yet fun. Thursday night we headed over to my friends Jenny & Chanan's house for a little social time before their big wedding weekend! It's always so great catching up with everyone, since not all of us live in the same city. Kira, Ashley and I had to leave a little early due to the fact that we would be waking up at 4 am for the Royal Wedding!

I've been SO excited about the Royal Wedding... I've always heard my mom talk about Diana's wedding and how big and awesome it was. With my clock set for 3:55 am (wow!) I immediately ran and woke up Kira and Ashley. Kira was the only one to join me, while we texted about it with Amanda. Kate's dress was perfect for her! She definitely looked like a princess. It was designed by Alexander McQueen designer Sarah Burton. While it's not exactly what I would choose for myself, I can imagine if I were in her position I'd pick something just like that. I just still can't seem to get over how naturally beautiful and perfect she is!

And can we please look at how teensy her waist is?! I heard on Doctor Oz today that she did the Dukan Diet. I'm not one for diets, I prefer to just eat healthy and exercise. However, I may have to give this one a try one day when I'm planning my own wedding! (meanwhile, I'm typing this and making flourless peanut butter cookies... awesome.)

Friday we had a the wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner for my friend Jenny. She got married at Pepper Plantation in Awendaw, SC. It was so perfect for them! The rehearsal was held at Marion's in the French Quarter, which is located on East Bay St. downtown. This was my first time ever going to Marions, and I'll have to say I'm a big fan! It was gorgeous, and the perfect spot for a cocktail party.

All of the bridesmaids and beautiful bride!
Saturday was SO much fun that I want to do this every weekend! Hanging out with my best friends, getting our hair done, socializing and drinking champagne! The funny thing is we all seemed to bring in pictures of Carrie Underwood for our hairstyle. I brought in this photo:
And this was the outcome!

I loved it! All of our hair turned out so pretty I thought. (Also note the earrings... these are what Jenny gave us as our bridesmaids gifts! LOVE them, she did such a great job!) They are by Erin McDermott.  Everyone check out her web site, she has beautiful jewelry that is so unique!

I'm going to stop typing and just post some photos from the wedding, I'm pretty sure they are self explanatory!

Mr. & Mrs. Cole!!

First dance :)
I cought the bouquet! YAY!

All the girls! (almost all of us)

Mine & Brice's new dance move... the air guitar!
I absolutely LOVED our bridesmaids dresses... they are by Lula Kate. And Jenny's dress is most likely my favorite wedding dress EVER. It was designed by Jodi Moylan at White on Daniel Island. I would post more but this is getting rather long! Time for me to go do some crunches or push ups of some sort after eating those peanut butter cookies... those are heading to Brice's house tomorrow so I won't eat anymore! eek!
