Blog Bullies, A GIVEAWAY!, and other ramblings

First of all, bear with me as I rant. Blog Bullies... we all have them I'm sure. This isn't the first, just the first time I've felt the need to post about it. I usually just delete and move along.  Allow me to show you:

REALLY?! Didn't your parents teach you anything about being nice? Or if they didn't... didn't Thumper?? "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"

In my opinion, these people must be extremely unhappy with themselves, therefore they have to make rude comments to others to make them feel better. If you're so proud of your comment, how about posting your actual name instead of "anonymous". Clearly, you are ashamed of yourself. And you clearly don't like me so...  how about just not reading my blog? That seems to be the logical idea.

And for the record... I love my profile and wouldn't change it for the world. I'm pretty sure everyone has an ugly laugh face. I know for sure I do. And about my roots... did you even READ my post? I have had to wait for my bridal portraits so that they are fresh. I'm sure most girls want fresh highlights for their wedding portraits!? And isn't the "ombre" look in these days anyway? And I'll never go my natural color because it looks like dishwater. It wouldn't be pretty! I'll take roots anyday.

Movin right along to more important things! Like a GIVEAWAY!!

My friend Ashley of Bodie Houston Gallery has been so gracious to give away one of her gorgeous marsh paintings to one of YOU!

This is only her side job, but look how gorgeous her paintings are.

She also does some that are more abstract... love this one.

And a tiny tiny "What I'm Loving Wednesday"

First off, Brice and I bought our wedding bands on Saturday.. forgot to include that in yesterdays post!

I can't wait to wear it!

Also, loving this song at the moment. Currently on repeat, "Drunk on You" by Luke Bryan. PS. Don't judge my ipod. I know it's old.

I've also noticed it's featured on The Bachelorette, maybe next Monday's episode?? Yay!

PS. What did y'all think of Monday's episode? I like the guy from Augusta... they're accents are cute together! :)

  1. That is crazy!!!!! Whoever wrote that is so rude and where did it even all come from?!?! Have a good week!:)

  2. What a rude person! I was just thinking as I read your post yesterday how lucky you are that your highlights grow out so gracefully -looks so intentional! I've had those rude comments before, too.

Anyway... I am so excited about this giveaway! I visited the Etsy shop and love her "The South" painting!

    Love your wedding band!

  3. Rude people!!! I LOVE your engagement ring and wedding band! They are both beautiful!

  4. WHAT A RUDE PERSON!! You're absolutely stunning. Don't ever listen to anyone that is just trying to bring you down.

I totally went to high school with the boy from Augusta but to be honest, if Luke Bryan showed up on the Bachelorette... I'd leave with him instead :)

  5. Gosh I hate nasty people!!!! You are gorgeous. The comments she made are so ridiculously absurd.

  6. I read that comment on your post and thought it was so rude.

Love these paintings, especially "Oh Happy Day"

  7. People can be so rude! Do not even pay them any attention, you are gorgeous! I get my hair done too and people are always going to say stuff about it when it's in between appointments, oh well, we can just rock it! :) Your wedding is going to be gorgeous, I'm excited to see it! I'm from Columbia too (but I live in Charlotte now) and went to Auburn as well so I love reading your blog!

  8. I've always like the old saying that the things people don't like in you are the same things they don't like about themselves. Unfortunately, we aren't all handed an Emily Post at birth. It's my favorite baby gift to give! I'm sad for poor anonymous. I don't allow those on my blog. Show your face or hit the bricks! I'm loving those paintings, too.

  12. What a rude rude person - you are beautiful inside and out. I wouldn't let their comments affect you :)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Why do people feel the need to leave such nasty comments? So rude.

    Your rings are beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Jealousy. It's just jealousy. Never even noticed your roots before either. I mean who cares?! Who says that? Just laugh at the fact that they took the time to use their negative energy to leave that comment while you were probably, well, smiling. :)

    ReplyDelete
  15. Wow, I can't believe someone would leave a comment like that, that's so terrible! But you have the right attitude, don't let the haters get you down! You are gorgeous and I was actually thinking when you were posting about the Bachelorette that you and Emily Maynard could totally be sisters! You're both stunning :) Have a great day girl!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I honestly can't believe someone would write something so mean! Shame on that person for being classless and cowardly. You are gorgeous - don't even give a second thought to that nasty comment! Love the rings:)

    ReplyDelete
  17. Oh man. What a B. I've never had anyone with the balls to leave a nasty comment- not even anonymously. I don't understand why people bother? They CLEARLY have issues. You look beautiful... and I actually like your hair with your roots growing out a little!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Couple things...preach it, sister! People bully because they have insecurities and see something in you that they wish they had!
A girl at my work is best friend with Ryan's (from Augusta) sister! How cool is that? She said that they had to stage his apartment to make it look like he was the only person that lived there because he has roommate ha!

  19. First off, people can be so rude...what ever happened to Southern Hospitality!

Second, I love the giveaway! I'm from Charleston, just moved to Cincinnati...miss home and would love to have a little reminder of it with a marsh painting.

Therefore, I liked the Bodie Houston Gallery on Facebook!

  21. Following "The Houston House" :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think it'd be awesome to see the Great Oak, on John's Island, done in abstract ;) I love that old tree!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I don't understand the reasoning behind why people think it's ok to say such hateful things like that! Jealousy and hatred are too awful things to have stuck inside of you...which is clearly the problem they have! Love you and your blog!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh Happy Day is my favorite! I would love to win one of her paintings!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm a fan of Bodie Gallery on Facebook!

  30. I would love for Ashley to paint the gazebo on the Battery.
My husband was born in Charleston and we were married in that gazebo.
White Point Gardens is beautiful and that gazebo holds a special place in our hearts.

Thank you for the chance at this giveaway!

  31. I just read your post again and I am at a lost for words as to why that person left you such an ugly message. I agree ...they are unhappy with themselves and feel the need to spread it. I also think they must be jealous.

Keep your head up high...and ignore it.

  32. "Anonymous" is obviously a very miserable/jealous person. Why else would she/he leave such a vicious comment?

She/he (I'd like to think it's a "she") is so unhappy with his/her life that he/she enjoys tearing other people apart in hopes of making them unhappy too.

Truth of the matter, people like you can't be taken down - that's what he/she doesn't understand.

You're a very beautiful (happy) girl surrounded by friends/family who love you very much. In addition, you are about to marry the man of your dreams. She/he wants what you have and is nowhere near getting it. Wonder why???

Move on. Not worth wasting your energy.

**Even though I am not personally posting any more, I enjoy checking in on my favorite blogs. I have loved reading about your wedding festivities. You are going to be such a pretty bride.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Bullies are the worst! How rude- someone is just very jealous!!

Anyways, I love the painting on your blog with the Palmetto tree!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I would love a Wofford theme! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Seriously do not even sweat those annoying comments. I got blasted for my grammar by a few 'Anonymouses' recently. So annoying... you are gorgeous and your roots totally do not show. Seriously...some people. Arrg.

P.S. Love your wedding band...reminds me of mine! And isn't it so fun to have so much bling on your finger?!? :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Don't sweat blog bullies - anyone who has enough time to come up with a comment like that (and spends that time being hateful) is clearly jealous. Not to mention childish. You're wedding band is lovely. And you're profile is perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Wow- I love the Southern Live Oak! Reminds me of my Florida childhood!

ANd OMG I cannot believe anyone would say that to you! Then again, when I even post a recipe for say brownies, I get told I'm fat. I am so sorry, pretty girl! No one deserves that, even if you know it's so not true.

  38. I hate that bully!! Not cool at all, loser! I want to be in the giveaway, one of those paintings would look great in my new apartment :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. You are beautiful! I can't believe somebody would post something like that. Just goes to show how jealous and bitter some people are. Oh and obviously raised poorly! I hope they are embarrassed by their actions. Truly pathetic!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm the same way about my hair! Us half-and-half blondes (i.e. dishwater blondes) have to wait for specific events before touching up or highlighting. I think more people than not understand your reasoning. I know I do!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hey Brooke..it's Brooke:) Sorry you had such a mean person commenting on your blog...but good for you for calling them out and staying positive! "Be happy in front of your Haters..It kills them" Just a lil quote thought was fitting;)

I am also going ombre...the natural way! lol. I haven't had my hair highlighted since December because it's Summer and let's just see what that sweet Sunshine will do!

Great giveaway! I love all the paintings that capture the beauty in the Lowcountry! I would love to win one for our new home..

And lastly, love your wedding band! Hope you enjoy the last month or so before you become a MRS!!

  46. I think you are so so beautiful, my Lord!! some people are ridiculous!!! I cant imagine the thoughts these people have when they sit down and write these things?! I'm a long time follower and wish you nothing but the best!!

Also, just an FYI on Oprahs channel OWN called Oprahs Next Chapter, this weeks episode is an hour with Carrie Underwood and her hubby in her weekend getaway house in TN, and I know youre a huge fan and it was SUCH a sweet episode, you may wanna check it out!

  47. I commented right after that anon. comment. Some people have no life and just want to stir things up. These people are sad. Brooke, you are a GAW-JUS and SAH-WEET girl! Don't worry about anon comments. If they were brave they wouldn't be anon. anyway! That ring and wedding band is HAWT!

    ReplyDelete
  48. HOLY COW!!! I'm sorry that someone was so ugly to you. You seem like a really sweet and beautiful girl. And I like your hair.
